Gas/oil mix for 1976 20 hp Merc

I was given a 1976 20 hp Merc in good condition, but I cannot see the gas/oil mixture listed anywhere on the motor or ID plate. Can you help me?

RMDF, I not sure they actual stated the fuel oil mixture on the engine or not. But when I rebuilt my '76 40HP I stenciled that on the engine's lower cover area by the fuel connector so it is there forever now...

Thank you, gentlemen. The friend that gave me the boat & motor said he "thought" it was 30:1 and I suggested that 32:1 was a more common mix for 2 cycle engines. 50:1 eh? I'll give it a try.

Your friend seems to be stuck in the past. The 50:1 ratio has been around since before '76. I believe it came about in the mid to late 60s but not sure.
