Gas line replacement

I have a 1977, 35 hp Evinrude, model 35752 that I've been working on. The gas line from the tank to the motor is very stiff, always has been. Since it's old, I'm going to replace it along with the primer bulb. Can I just get same-size neoprene gasline from the local auto parts store, or does it need to be some special type? The neoprene is much more flexible than the hard plastic-like line that came with the motor.

Re: Gas line replacement

You know, you could do it that way. Sometimes it is even necessary if a longer hose is needed. The trouble is by the time you buy new fittings and what not to go with your hose, your better off just getting a new OEM hose. The new hoses are better than the plastic one you have.

alcan,<br /> Thank-you for your reply. I will check into OEM hoses but I suspect they will be more expensive than just buying the hose and re-using the original fittings.
