Gas level sending unit

There is a Mueller 12 gallon plastic gas tank in my boat. It has a separate gas indicator which just a plastic stick. I would like to put a gas send unit in its place so I could have a gauge on the console. I have talked to a couple of places and they tell me it can not be done. Does anyone know of a unit that I could use?

Which Moeller tank do you have?

Probably your only choice is another tank with a sender for a dash mounted gas gauge. A plastic tank can't be modified safely.
