Thanks to everyone who reads this. Iboats is great. Here is what i got. I noticed a gas smell after my last time out. After some looking it appears raw gas is leaking from the area where the gas tank is to the bilge. I took the panel up over the gas tank and there was raw gas in there slashing around the outside of the tank. I sucked out the gas (about 2 gallons) and sucked out the bilge area. Appears to have stopped leaking. Now i looked at the tank for any signs of leaks and nothing stood out to me until i saw that one of the screws that holds the fuel pump on was missing and that leads right into the tank. Before my last trip out i filled the tank up to the top and i am wondering if the boat was on an angle with us on the back if it would be possible for the gas to come out from that hole on the top of the tank. Anyways my boat is an 87 four winns horizon with the 4.3 and alpha drive. Thanks for looking.

Please tell you run the blower motor when starting and idle and no wake zones, I am not trying to be a smart a@@ I have seen to many boat end that way! Ya definitly check your fittings, liquid runs down hill meaning it could be another fitting too. you said you pumped 2gals, thats alot of gas and no more leeks?

Yes blower is always run. So far no leaks. I am wondering because i packed the fuel in there and that screw was missing if it was pouring out of that hole. All of us were on the back of the boat so it was on a pretty good angle.

The screw that was missing, means open hole into the gas tank?? Ya could be the problem! check all your hose clamps while your at it, and I always fill mine till I can't put no more in, You could try all that and put her on the water, maybe leave your cover put aside inside the boat when you take her out by yourself or with some one just so fumes don't build up when you check her out. hopefully thats all it is, but won,t know till you take her out next time, do you have some where close by where you don't have to drive to far?

Tanks do develope leaks for 100 different reasons... You can try pressure testing your tank.
