gas coming out carb 40 evenude

have a 1962 40hp evenude engin startes then seems to flood and gas comes out carb

You just need to take it off, clean it, and change the gaskets. Soak in carb leaner for a while, blow it out with an air compressor to dry it and remove small dirt particles and the like. Also, just buy a carb rebuild kit. Your needle and seat might be sticking, float could be bad, clogged passages or jets. Very easy to do. Good luck.

needle valve is my bet on this one...order a new one...and clean carb out real good...would not hurt to replace the float also..they are pretty cheap. Best to just get the whole kit with float and replace the gaskets...

I had same motor, same problem. It was the float in the bowl. Get a rebuild kit w/ float.
