Ok,Im new to the boating thing here and need help. I have a 85hp mercury outboard that you gotta mix the fuel and oil together. How many cans(Plastic Bottles) of oil to i put into each gallon of gas?
It depends on how big the can is... you should be running 50:1 gas to tcw3 oil, which is (1) 16 oz can of tcw3 oil to (6) gallons of gas, or 2.6 oz of tcw3 to (1) gallon of gas.
Most of the oil you buy will have a chart on the back of the label telling you how much to put in based on how much fuel you have put in. It's easiest to get a measuring device with ounces to measure the proper amount of oil, also a little too much is better than not enough.
The motor will smoke more when first started and
at idle.Especially if there is too much oil in the gas.
Are you sure your motor is not oil injected
If it is it will have a tank somewhere for the oil.
