gas and oil sludge out exhaust port after trailering boat

Why do I get gas and oil sludge out of my exhaust port at the propeller after use? I have a 1975 65 hp 3 cyl outboard.

How is the engine running? How do the plugs look? What oil and ratio do you mix? How do you normally operate the engine? (ie, lots of trolling?)

Put Sea Foam in the fuel, per instructions on the can. It helps to clean out the accumulated crud in the fuel and combustion process. Just add it to the mix, don't change the fuel-oil ratio.
