I plan to purchase this product in the next few weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations on the product? To use the Fishing Hot Spots maps, do I have to purchase any accessories such as a memory card?

I have the 168 and it is awesome! You don't need anything additional to use the hot spot CD as everything can be downloaded right from your PC into the unit. I plot all my routes on my PC and download them right to the unit and then just follow the waypoints. The navigation CD comes with all the waterway markers built right in. The GPS also tracks your routes so when can upload them to your PC and track were you have been.

I can't say enough about this product. I could not be happier.

Sometimes you can find a deal where you get hotspots as along with the unit, otherwise the CD alone is like $95

Some retailers toss in a CD with the unit, but with Fishing Hotspots you still have to buy the unlock codes for the regions you want to load into the unit.

If you plan to use the unit in your vehicle as well, you will want the CD "Roads and Recreation". No unlock codes required.

More "hidden" expense, but worth every penny. :)

I have the GPSMap 168 and I love it. I live in Tn and use the fishing hot spots map for old hickory and peircy priest, both with exceptional detail. I found it for 249...
