Hello,
I bought the Garmin fishfinder 140 strictly to tell me the depth of the water and objects under the water(rocks, branches, etc.) Another nice feature is water temp. The manual states that I need a temp sensing transducer and not all models have it. I looked my transducer over and nothing indicates that it is or is not temp sensing. Now the manual covers model 90 and 140. How do I find out which transducer I have.

Thanks,
Tom

Re: Garmin 140

How about installing it and looking at the screen:rolleyes::p;):D

Seriously, though, call the customer support number in the owners manual.

Re: Garmin 140

I have a Garmin 178 with the temp and it looks just like any other transducer, as veratis said just hook it to a battery and see if it registers temp, you don't have to actually install it, it doesn't need to be in the water to work, I turn mine on all the time to see how warm it is the garage.

Also if you bought it new they certainly put the right trans with it.
