I had my head checked the other day, and i just want to make sure of the specks before i have him machine it.

on one side it is .002
opposite that it is .003, & .004

does the whole head have to be at .002, or can i let this slide?

Re: gap on head

depends on which side and what the exact spec is for flatness. on the cylside .002 is normal wear/warpage limit. can be surfaced on a 6" or 8" belt sander with 120 grit belt. if its not very far off.
