i just purchased a gamefisher 7.5, 1976, per the seller it has been in a garage for over 25 years. i took it home, replaced the fuel lines and installed a fuel filter and the engine started on four pulls. it is air cooled but i see that it has a water pump to cool the lower tower, should i replace the impeller due to sitting in a dry state and the fuel cutoff valve is stuck in the open position. can this fuel valve be rebuilt with a seal or packing, and where can i get parts? thank you very much for any responses. this is my first post on this forums.

Hello and Welcome to Iboats cms58,

everything is rebuild-able, yep I would change the impeller and you can get a knew valve or repair the old one,

check these guys out for all your Eska needs...for newbies I highly recommend them and they have nice pics to help you , they are a honest Authorized Eska mom and pop shop in Indiana,
Good luck.

Well, ya read it right, Sparky, as truer words was never spoke. And the Crabinator said 'let there be Tecumseh/Eska out boards' and there was Tec/Eska outboards...... If ever you need the healing hands, they are here;

eskaoutboards : Eska Outboards Group

That group helps those who help themselves - If you want to make it go, and make it live a long happy life, the resources are available.

You know what fun to do with a Eska?, wait till there is a big bass tournament and the creeks are full of 45,000$+ bass boats that will run your butt over, and with big money on the line, and then go howling up the creek with the 7.5 singing @ WOT from the Tecumseh 2 cycle hymnal :) makes my day....

Sounds like you found quite a treasure. I have a`77 model and it's nearly indestructible. By the way it's one of the easiest motors to change the water pump on, the whole process took me about twenty minutes.
