I have a 7.5hp Gamefisher outboard motor (Model:217-586752, Serial:58 013028, Block:344084) that has not been used for 4 or 5 years. Took it out yesterday and it ran good for a little over a half tank of gas, then as I was cruising wide open it started to lose power and finally sputtered out. I was able to restart it and it would go wide open for a minute or two and then sputter out again. The gas tank is old too, could it be the tank because it seems like it stops getting gas when it sputters out? I used fresh gas but the oil was an old opened bottle of Pennzoil Marine Oil. Anyone have any ideas because I would sure like to get back out on the lake.
