Two questions:
1.) Where can I obtain a maintenance/ repair manual for this motor?
2.) After removing the drive shaft to check the water pump, the unit does not seem to get into gear. I an either not getting the shaft into the receiver or I did something to the drive. Any hints on reassembly or checking the transmission?

The only information on the motor is:
Gamefisher 7.5
Clutch Drive
Twist Handle
Model # 217/58592-0
Serial # 0235621
If there is any other information I don't know where to find it. Is this enough?
I don't know what year the motor is, I got it second hand from my late uncle.
Thank's for the help!

Hi all just joined the forum...wealth of information here. I am responding to this thread becasue i too have the same model. bought it used. runs but the fuel line developed a hole while testing. no water coming out of the exhaust holes either. buddy says its an air cooled model. we tried to figure out how to check for the impeller. can't get very far with some sort of manual. also how the heck does the prop come off?? is it threaded on?? so here i am. my plan is to put this unit on a quicksilver 270 raft. take my kids out on a lake we belong to. BTW i am in stillwater nj. any help would be appreciated. thanks Kurt i am reading thru the other posts for help but i figure i would throw this out to get the ball rolling.

I know your only trying to help John B and yourself in the process but it is much less confusing if you start your own thread. There is a new thread tab at the top of the "other outboatds" page.
All that being said there is a free manual file just below your post.

You probably just didn't get the shaft back into the clutch. It's tricky getting the water tube and shaft to go in at the same time. Having someone gently rotate the motor when you get the shaft near the "sweet spot" may help.
Best place to view diagrams is www3.sears.com. Yes, the dot goes AFTER the 3. This is a 1977 Eska motor. The following sites have info, parts and manuals for your motor:
http://home.earthlink.net/~brixent/index.htm
www.certifiedpartscorp.com/
www.discount-marine-parts.com/ob_eska.html
Aren't outboards great to tinker with?
Good luck, Ed
