So the last Powerball winner last week hit for $252 million jackpot had one winner who was from Missouri in the Wednesday, April 21, 2010 drawing. Saw him on TV, he had around 3 teeth and makes $7.50 and hour at a store like the "Sack of Suds".

So I feel it in my bones . . . I'm getting closer to winning :D

Today was 82 degrees on Lake George in NY and we cruised around shooting pictures of the houses along the shore lines.

So when I win, I could use some help from the members here as to which one I should buy with my future Powerball winnings

Anyway, this is how the other half lives . . . I should have married RICH :D

Not too bad for summer retreats. :D

Even if I had the $$$$$, I know I wouldn't buy anything close to those. Every December I would have to write a huge check for the RE taxes. Don't care how much is in my account, it would still pain me to no end.

Hahaha . . . That mansion in the first pic has a big boathouse to the left but can't be seen in the pic. All 3 boats say "Baby Boom" on the back.

I've heard rumored that the house is owned by a local obstetrician and it was up for sale for 15 million.

We didn't get over to the other side of the lake, but there is this huge sprawling house that's owned by one of the owners of the Boston Red Sox.

I'd like to see if there is a book published that is a "who's who" (or is it "whose who") in those houses. When you go on the boat tours they tell you who owns some of the houses and what they do for a living. I betcha a few were picked up in the Dot Com days!
But many of the older ones have been in their families for years I'm sure.

There has been a big influx of wealthy individuals from NYC and NJ because its only a few hour drive for them.

While I was eating lunch and flipping through a local paper it showed that Lake George was #2 out of the top 100 places to visit "off season" in the U.S.

But they only way to see it is by renting a boat, using your own boat or on a tour boat. Otherwise, the only thing most people see of Lake George is their little 10 block honky tonk village, which the article said to avoid as it's just a big strip mall.

One of the pictures is the Sagamore hotel ( the sprawling white one on the hill taken from afar). I think they said "on season" their rates are something like $590 I don't know if that was for a day or a week

Ya that one's brand new. We watched them building that one each season as we cruised along the shoreline.

People buy up two or 3 old houses and then demolish them for the land and put up houses like that one in the picture.

Slow economies don't seem to effect the very wealthy.
