I had a 10 amp fuse burn out for the oil pump on my 115 ficht 2001 for no apparent reason. The mecanic didn't find anything that could of caused the fuse to burn out.I always thought that if a fuse burns out bit because there is a short circuit etc.
My question is, is it a normal thing to have a fuse burn out or is it absolutely caused by something either the pump in this case or what ever ?
Thanks

Re: Fuse question

Something must have caused the fuse to blow. I guess there is a small chance it could have failed during normal operation. Try another fuse and if it blows then you really know you have a problem.

Re: Fuse question

I agree with seasport. Never put in a bigger fuse though. Sometimes fuses blow for no real apparent reason, it could have come from something as simple as a little water getting into where it should not be.

John
