Fuse or Breaker size?

Installing a 24V trolling motor and wondering what the appropriate Fuse/Breaker would be.
It says MAX amp draw 28A. Running 8 gauge wire about 7 feet.

What size is your battery wiring for the troller? If the fuse is rated higher than the ampacity of the wire the wire becomes the fuse.

For 28 amps the minimum fuse size would be 35 amps (product amperage x 1.25). For 8 gauge wire less than 10 feet the maximum fuse size would be 80 amps if its a single wire, if its bundled with other wires the max would be 60 amps. Usually you want to be somewhere in the middle of min and max to avoid nuisance fuse blows.
