Fuse or breaker for switch panel

re-doing the electrical system on my pontoon and i will be repacing the switch panel and i see there are kinds with fuses and some that have breakers, which is better for a boat? or doeant it really matter

I used the breakers.

Seems to me that's what all the manufacturers are using nowadays so why not.

I prefer breakers because you can reset them if they trip. Since fuses burn up and aren't usable again, if you trip a circuit breaker by accident then it's not a big deal. If you blow the fuses to your lights messing around and you're out on the lake at dusk it could be quite serious.

just my 2 cents but troubleshooting a fuse blowing problem in the dark with a limited # of fuses is not a place you want to be out in the middle of the lake. Esp if it happens to be in your navigation light circuit.
