Read about this trick from Jeff W on another site. really made loading the boats up on the trailer slick!

except I must have over done it, twice!, first with my jet skies, good thing there is a roller at the bow! ( did not even have to winch the thing up, and the trailer was partway out of the water!)

the 2nd time was with my bayliner, but this time it missed and went past the roller ( whats that roller called? bow roller?) the lower unit stopped the boat. But, again, I was able to crawl out the front of the boat, and pull the boat up to the roller by hand, without having to use the winch! And not getting into the water ( it was 45 deg!) no damange to winch or front of boat ( was not going that fast).

So, if you want to make winching you boat up easyer, try this out. ( just dont over do it!) 8)

Now to wait for a warm day to clean the boat.

I think with all the concern about keeping the boat on the trailer during and unplaned STOP there has to be a DOWN side to slideing to easy :)

Does the polish damage the hull when sitting?

I do't recall where I read the artical by Jeff Walkowiak ( he is a member on this site, under pwc) but I recall he said its good for the hull and uses it all the time ( I think it would be like waxing it)

And yes, I made sure I attached the straps before going up the ramp too far!

I have two jetskies, one single trailer, so for my one jet ski, I made a cradle for it, and pulled the PWC off the trailer onto the cradle which I also sprayed. well it slid off the trailer bunks, onto the cradle, and onto the ground! good think I could pull it back onto the cradle.

I think a can of furniture polish will go along way!

there's also non-food grade silicone for sale in cans. i think i found a can at home crepot or similar. same effect but i'd think not as harsh. i have an image in my head of the furniture polish building up in the carpet and matting it down. the silicone washes off after a few dunkings.

I see, the "but..." part I mistook to mean that there was something better than furniture polish. Got it now. Must stop posting so early before I wake up fully.
