Do outboards come with a fuel/water separator? I have a 2002 Mercury 75HP 2-Stroke? I looked at a few here on i-boats and it looks like they connect to the fuel line externally? So maybe they don't, not sure? Also the motor does have a thermostat. Where is it? Is it like a thermometer I can read or hook up a gauge to,not very educated here? Thanks a bunch

Outboards do not come with a water seperator but some dealers do install them. They are inexpensive and easy to intall between your motor and the gas tank. Yes your motor has a thermostat, just like the one in your car or truck. And yes you can get a temp gauge for it. West Marine carries them along with most marine supply houses.

Re: Fuel/Water Separator

Thank you IBNFSHN. I don't have a fuel/water separator but I am going to get one soon. Do you know by any chance what temperature the engine should be running at before the overheat alarm goes off or the average running temperature? I live in Phoenix and the temperature in summer during the day is always well above 100 degrees. Thanks, Any help is welcome
