Hi,.
I have a 1986 125 Force outboard in a bayliner approx 17' long.
2 questions :
1. How big is the gas tank (in litres). 2. How long should the fuel last?

Thanks

#1 - Big enough.

#2 - Until it runs out.

You need to give us more to work with.

To begin - Which 17' Bayliner ? Is the tank under the deck. Do you have access to the tank?

Are you still having the buzzer sounding off?

-The boat was given to me a few years ago. I don't know what type of bayliner.
-Then fuel tank is located below deck, it seems rectangle shape, not easily accessible and I didn't see writing on it.
-Then buzzer issue has been fixed thank you

The length of time the fuel lasts depends on how far you are pushing the throttle forward, how many people and gear you have aboard, how much fuel you have in the tank. Your question cannot be answered because of those factors. What can be provided is that a 125 HP two stroke engine will burn about 12.5 gallons of fuel per hour at wide open throttle. Another way to look at fuel consumption is to use 10% of rated HP/hour -- again at wide open throttle. Obviously less at lesser throttle settings. But again, there are too many variables to be any more specific. As to fuel tank size the only way you can find out is to run it dry and then fill it.

Is any part of the tank visable? There may be an id plate in the tank stating it capacity. My friend has a 1988 ish bayliner classic 17 foot with i/o and it's tanks had a plate ( 30 gallon btw) . See if anything is on it.
