I hope that this is the right place to post this question. I have a 1988 bayliner capri 19 ft. What I would like to know is how do you drain the gas tank. I was told that there might be water in the gas.

thank you
Jim

Re: fuel tank

Is it the floor and not easily removed? If so, go to the auto parts store and buy a hand pump and pump it all out. Raise the boat up so all of it will run to the back and you hopefully get it all. If you don't have a fuel water seperator I would get one, they are pretty cheap.

Re: fuel tank

Its expensive and a pain in the butt to get rid of. Depending on how much there is you might want to burn out the most of it if the boat runs and is in the water and pump the rest

This came up just the other day,.... Look back a page or 2,... Don't remember the title of the thread though........

Like I said Then,..........

You Don't have a Tank of Bad Gas,........... You have a Quart of Water,..... Maybe Even Less..............

Your boat may not have a Water Seperating Fuel Filter,....... Go Buy 1......
And,... About 3 or 4 Extra Filters..........

Clean the Water,+ Crapola out of the Carb.,+ it's filter,...... Change the fuelpump filter, if so equiped,..
Mount your New Canister W/S/Fuel Filter, BEFORE the Fuel Pump,.......

And Go Boating..................

When it starts to Run Bad,....... Change the W/S/Fuel Filter,.........
And Go Boating Again................

I've even used the Same Filter, over + over + over again,... Just Draining the Water Out,+ Reinstalling it............

Or,......... You could Pay somebody, $100.00 to Throw Away $50.00 worth of Good Gas,....
And about a Quart of Water......................
