Just wondering how I can find out how many gallons my fuel tank holds--My fuel gauge isn't exactly working and I can't find anywhere in the owners manual what it holds. Thanks-btw, my boat is a 88 regency thundercraft with a 3.0 merc.

Re: Fuel tank question

If no one else has any suggestions, than the best way to tell what the tank size is, is to make sure it is empty and then take it to the pumps.

There should be a sticker on the tank itself that would states the make and model and the capacity. You might not see it if you can't see where the tank is. I have to look real hard on mine to see what capacity it is.

It should be in the owners manual in the specifications section where it describes lenght, beam, weight, deadrise etc.. For a rough reference, you could measure the tank... 233 cu. in. per gallon. If the tank is rectangular this may give you a pretty good number be be advised that number is the tank capacity and not useable fuel. My 279DA carries 124 gallons but only 102 are useable!<br />Greg
