Fuel Tank or filler line not allowing refuel.

I know it sounds crazy but when I try to refuel, the pump clicks off within a few seconds and fuel spews out like the tank is full. It looked like a clogged vent line or kinked filler hose but both have been removed and checked out and are clear. I've seen mentions of an anti-siphon valve. Could this be the problem? If so, where is it? Any other ideas? Thanks

Welcome, martman. The anti-siphon is only to stop fuel spillage if the feed line/etc. to the engine develops a leak - it's not going to cause a burp back when refueling. Some boats are just hard to fill, just like some cars. Have you tried a slower fill?

I've had the boat for 10 years. It does spew when I go for a fill up and wait for the pump to click off. I don't go for a total fill up anymore. This is a new thing it spews within seconds of starting the pump.

Have you checked the vent itself for a blockage?

Is this a new to you boat? I know that most of tha bass boats (Name brands, not tha cheapies) today have this problem, Ya gotta play with it ta get it ta take fuel, Very few will let ya run tha pump any more than half speed. It seems ta be tha nature of tha beast stickin' as big a tank possible in as small a space as possible with no regards to usually a flat fill hose route......jmo

JAN. Tha last several boats of my own I put another hose and cap on tha neck at tha tank disconnecting tha one that went outside to tha gunnel. Raise tha lid ta fill it. Did not use tha filler with tha cap on tha gunnel.......Much quicker. Could run tha pump wide open.

He said he's had it for 10 years....

What about a partially collapsed filler hose? But I'm sure you checked it for kinks and flat spots...
