Fuel system fail on new boat

Have Mercury 200 V6 and Merc 9 kicker on new Thunderjet Chinook. Other than an apparent oil leak which slowed/stopped when engine up and was to be addressed everything seemed to be running smoothly. With just over 10 hrs on motor, warmed it up pulled slowly away from dock and it got up to about 600 rpm, sputtered and died. Repeated at shorter intervals and then got towed back to dock. Still on first tank of fuel and all instruments green. The kicker started then died to and bulb not filling. Kicker connected to portable supply and runs fine. So seems like problem is somewhere between tank and motors. One other possible factor is that last successful outing the ambient temp was about 25 degrees cooler as it has gotten hot up here.
Have contacted Service techs and awaiting some suggestions. The fuel tank is not easily accessible and I my mechanical knowledge is very basic. The plan is to run the big motor off the portable tank and get it back to a harbour where it can be hauled. Boating techs are in short supply around here. I am hoping someone may have some suggestions for what may just be a kinked line. The fuel system is more complicated than my old 2007 boat.

If you have 2 motors running off one fuel line Tee'd to the 2 motors, that doesn't work. It can work if you put valves on the fuel line to turn the motor not be used OFF

Heck, take a portable tank and fuel line with you for test. Connect the built in tank to the big motor ONLY and see if it works. if some of the "plumbing" to either motor leaks air into the fuel line, you will have fuel starvation.
