Fuel solid and have fire won’t crank

OT 820216 2004 EL 25 hp Mercury. Out of nowhere wouldn’t crank on lake after running perfect. Noticed the pee hose had come loose on bottom and two days before notice no charge going to battery. Should I start with rectifier ?

Won't crank means the starter won't spin the engine? Battery voltage? Battery OK, jump across starting solenoid......red wire on starter backup the line to the switch. I use a pair of common plier handles...will spark. If it does solenoid bad. If not starter needs testing.

Hello thank you for the help. I’m sorry it turns over strong it just won’t start. I will test spark today. I have sprayed fuel in carb. Checked the fuses and all grounds and connections. I’ve had issues with idling at times perfect at times low and rough then back to perfect without making adjustments. I’m new to outboards so forgive me for ignorance in terminology.

When did you change the plugs last? What do they look like? What fuel did you spray in the carb.....fresh?

Changed plugs 2 weeks ago. Yes fresh fuel. Was on the water went to move after 20 min of fishing. Have had boat on water 4 days a week for few months.

Is this a tiller or remote model? Is this a Mercury or tohatsu built motor?

plugs looked good when I changed few weeks ago.

Had carb rebuilt last Feb of this year from a local shop. Bottom of rectifier was sitting in water when hose came loose.

Ok bought spark tester and no spark at both plugs.

I do not show this in my wiring diagram in my manual two yellow wires go to the stater one ground wire the other blue wire goes back into the remote wiring harness is it possible to check this I still have no spark stater test good
