I want to fit a fuel shut off valve to a Mercruiser 5l 305cdi engine. Engine Ser. No OM068280. This is a carb model with thunderbolt V Ignition. Unfortunately don't have access to the boat at the moment so not sure of fuel pipe diameter. Had considered fitting the valve at the inlet to the carb, can anyone advise firstly if this is a suitable location and secondly the make / model of a suitable valve. Help appreciated.

Likely a 3/8" brass valve will work. Why would you want to install this valve? Is it so you can "break down" at sea with your girlfriend?

This section of the board is for Mercury Outboards. There is a MerCruiser section for your engine as well.

**********MODS, Please move to the correct section.**********
