Is there a fuel restriction alarm (I don't see a vacuum switch) on a 90 HP Johnson (1987 J90TLCUR)? I get a steady alarm for about a minute at the start of most outings in my Johnson. Finally shuts off and no more for rest of day. I have temp gauges on both heads (I recently installed them) and we are running cool (140-150*). Thermostats and water pump recently serviced. Should I disconnect VRO tank to see if that relates to the alarm horn somehow? Thanks for any info/expertise.

Steady alarm is overheat alarm. It may be a bad sensor. Disconnect it and try again but monitor your temp gauge closely while doing it just in case it is running hot.
