Re: fuel questions 96 wave venture

this is one of the reasons i will not go to pre mix and still have my oil pump installed. Think about it. You are running pre mix. You are turning your motor over. How does this pre mix motor get lube. From the fuel you say is not getting to the carb. Not good. There are alot of folks that say go to premix but when i have to trouble shoot a ski i usually have to turn it over to see whats happnin. I know i didnt answer your primary question but i hope this gives you something to think about. Side note my neighbor is on his 3rd 2 stroke boat motor because he was always working onit and turning it over with no fuel getting to the cylinders. He runs premix (or ran premix)

Oh to comment on your 2nd question. A properly functioning carburator will draw the fuel just fine. You do not need a fuel pump. Probably a carb rebuild or first make sure the input and return fuel lines on the carb are not swapped.

almost any yamaha dealer should carry re-build kits, or can order the proper one for you.
