OK so yesterday when I was trying to determine if the fuel in my tank that I had was good. I was going to drain it put some in a 5 gallon and running in a lawnmower. However when I depress the bulb nothing happens. And sometimes it gets stuck depressed like there’s a negative pressure on the hose. I also switched to a clear hose to see if any liquid was moving out of the bulb. There would come times be some fuel that came out but followed by a lot of air. The guy said there was gas in there and he has no idea how long it’s been in there when I bought it. Any help would be appreciated

Is the bulb pointed in the right direction? There is an arrow on it. Did you open the vent on the cap?

You’re saying the fuel tank itself has cracks or holes? What is it like trying to repair one of those, or should I just switch to external fuel sources as primary?

No, the hose or the bulb. You must have an onboard permanent tank, next time make sure you say that. Permanent tanks are always vented.

I have no idea of the condition of your tank.

Ya I do I have an internal tank,it has a hose running to what looks like a fuel filter and then a hose to a 3 way valve and lines going to both outboards. Each haas their own primer bulb. One of them the bulb is dry rotted and needs replacing but the other is brand new and I’m still getting either nothing when priming or that negative pressure

If you have a 3 way valve with no check valve (one way valve) then your probably drawing air from the rotted bulb. Remove the rotten one and replace or cap and then try. They sell a plastic hand pump for removing gas (at least they used to) I bought one for a whaler that had bad gass in the tank. When I got to the last bit of gas in the bottom it started pulling out these long worms of gas sh** . Not a fun job. How big is the tank and is it full?

No clue and no clue haha I’ll try capping the rotted one though and see if that works
