Fuel Question

I have about a quarter of a tank of fuel, probably like 4 gallons, in the boat as we speak...

I did not put Stabil in it, as I parked her in a hurry, I know, bad excuse, but it is what it is.

She turns over, but doesn't start. I'm sure it's a fuel thing. This weekend I'm going to clean out carbs, I don't think it's ever been done. If it has, I have no record of it.

But I was curious as to what everyone thinks of Seafoam. I've put it in engine oil before, but can I run it through my fuel system in my 1983 75HP Johnson?

And what effects will I see? Smoke, fire, what?

Re: Fuel Question

Lots of folks use it as a fuel stabiliser. At small amounts you won't see anything. Use 3/4 of a can to a gallon of gas and you will have the recipe for a decarb, which will be awfully smokey and may ruin your plugs. However, your motor will be decarbed and may gain a little of its lost power.
