hi everyone!

I have fore 125 1988

I was told on a other thread thad my valve could be bad due to the bottom cylinder #4 is washing clean i.e seam to be leaner than other cylinders.

I checked on iboat and to ship to Canada is a whopping 30$ the parts itself is only 11.52.

is there a way to test the valves to assure their failure?

thanks mike

Re: fuel pump valve

The button valves inside the fuel pump rarely do go bad and even if they did, it would not lean or richen one cylinder. Look for a torn or damaged diaphragm. That can let raw fuel into the crankcase. Check the bottom carb to be certain the low speed needle is not too lean. It should be one turn out or so.

If you have a damaged diaphragm, and if there is no filter in the line between the pump and carbs, clean the carb. It may have pieces of diaphragm clogging the inlet needle or high speed jet
