My question is with the rebuild kit 393088. It lists as '81 and up. I've poked around and have found some other posts where members have said they've used it on earlier engine's pumps. I'd like to know what the actual scoop is, including if it'll work with my pump or not.

I just have some diaphragms on hand.---------That is all you really need to rebuild these simple little square pumps.

you need small fingers.

I usually put a dab of crazy glue on the base nipples where ther springs mount and a dab on the other end of the springs (Under the little mushroom caps to mount them securely).

that way they dont fly around the room while you fit the diaphragms and mounting bolts. and you dont need to buy another kit because you cant fing the little parts.

:) dont forget to "blow test" the pump before mounting it ! air should only flow .....IN TO OUT
