I hope someone out there can help? I have 7.4 L (454 GM) King Cobra, when I sart the boat first thing the engine works fine for the first ride of the day (about 30 min to 1 hour) After I stop for a couple of hours the boats starts fine but after running for a couple of minutes the engine dies, I turn the key on and the fuel pump does not work. I check the 20 amp breaker and it is popped, I reset the breaker and the pump works for a couple of minutes and then the breaker trips again. I felt the low pressure pump and it is really warm. I will keep resetting the breaker usually the engine will finally start, the engine will be very slugglish and sometimes die. Could the low pressure pump be packing it in or is it something else?

Re: Fuel Pump Problems

Have you checked that your fuel tank is properly vented? Try loostening the fuel cap while it is acting up and see if that makes a difference.

Re: Fuel Pump Problems

Thanks its not a vent problem I have removed the low pressure pump and hooked up 12 volts to the pump and it don't rotate so I've ordered a new pump.
