I have a mercury optima 115 hp engine. When I turn my key the put will only run for less than a minute then shuts off. I believe it is my fuel pump. Now when I turn the key it won't even crank. I already charged the starter could it be the fuel pump.
Would love some input.

You mean Optimax, right? On those Optimax's, he pump only runs for a few seconds normally, so that is probably not your problem.

Does the starter crank the motor? If not the neutral safety switch may be bad, or the control may not be in neutral. Hold the key in the crank position and wiggle the throttle handle.

Are the fuses good? Usually if the fuses are blown the tilt and starter will not operate.

Gee, one would think checking the fuses would proceed changing the starter.
