Hi this is my first post and looking forward to reading the responses. I need to know what the output fuel pressure for both the high and low pressure pumps. Thanks

Symptom is that the boat failed to start after a few hours of operation. Did some water sports then had lunch for an hour afloat. Upon atempting to start the boat would crank fine but no fire. Fuel pump extra noisy. Put on a new fuel filter ( old one seemed good though) fuel pump still noisy but boat started then fuel pump ran quietly. once started ran perfectly back to the dock. Starts fine on the muffs and unable to duplicate problem. Have a trip planned to camp lake Powell alone and looking to eliminate any potential problems. Hence the fuel pump testing.

Re: Fuel pump pressure?

5psi ? 3 for the low pressure pump, 29psi ? 2 for the high pressure pump.

Noisy pumps are cause by air, I would be looking for air leaks, plugged pickup tube or antisiphon valve in the fuel system before the pump.

Re: Fuel pump pressure?

Thanks Don. I was leaning towards a leak down through the anti siphon valve. Tested the pumps and found 6 psi/ 31 psi. Do you know what size anti siphon valve is needed? I am going to pick one up and keep it on the boat. Looks to be 1/2 barb by 1/2 npt. Thanks again for the psi confirmation.
