Merc 50hp 1996 4 Stroke
Used boat, haven't put it in the water yet. Don't know the history of the motor. After getting it running it just seemed like it wasn't pumping enough gas. So I pulled the fuel pump off. Big chunk missing circled in red in the photo.
Question 1: Other then age of the pump and plastic, is there something that would cause this to happen that I need to look into?
Question 2: Do I need to fish out the plastic? I can't see it anyplace. I'm guessing I'd have to get a video/cam snake to look inside?
Any thoughts on this would be great.
