I just put on my newly rebuilt carb and now my right motor runs ccchhheerrry :D

However while running it after install I noticed the fuel pump sight tube was spitting alittle fuel in and out about the first 3 inches of the tube after the pump. Gas was not making it up the other 12 or so inches to the carb (yet). So my diaphragm is toast... will it be "ok" and not hurt anything for about an hours use tomorrow since its not spitting fuel into the carb yet? I've had plans for a short cruise tomorrow for a while now....

A ruptured diaphram can also leak gas into the crankcase. there have been cases of engine explosions not to mention the oil getting very, very thin

Re: Fuel pump going to be ok?

haha true. I guess my question is the amount of fuel seen in or being pumped out proportional to how messed up the pump is? When the pump went out on my other engine it was spitting a 3 foot stream of fuel out of the sight tube, this one isnt even making it half way up, i would have never even noticed it except i just happend to wipe somthing in that area while the engine was running...

Don't even think about running your engine anymore. Buy a new pump.
