I've heard the 7351 pump is better than the 7350, but haven't been able to find out what the difference is. I had the fuel pump conversion done on my '57 18hp and it still wont suck fuel. Im wondering if the pump might make the difference.

The numbers are 18-7350 and 18-7351, sold here at iboats. Either one should work on your 18. If you were to take those suckers apart Don't), you would see the difference. The 7351 is much simpler and down to earth.

So, which one did you use? Is it mounted right side up? Is it a new one or a used one? Has somebody had it apart? How did you mount it? Is it "seeing" the pressure pulses inside the crankcase?

FR , when you say "right side up", are you talking about the pulse hole from the block being lined up with the pump? Don't know what the pumps look like.
