I'm looking to replace the fuel pump on my '88 30 HP Johnson.
The donor is from a '87 30 HP Evinrude.
After looking up the part, I see everything is the same between the two assemblies except for the
diaphragm (0334640 vs. 0332678).

Any idea what the difference is?
I would rather swap out the entire assembly.

Along about then was when OMC started using ethanol resistant parts in some areas. Might be the diaphragm was made to withstand ethanol better than the previous version. Could also have been a small change in hole pattern in the pumps. There are several variations on similar pumps where the screw holes in the cases changed a bit...

Thanks, Chinewalker.
I went out to the garage for a quick look see.
I haven't actually pulled the
parts and compared them, but they certainly look similar.
I'm leaning towards the ethanol change you mentioned.
Thanks again.
