fuel pump conversion

I am currently trying to source an alternative fuel pump that can be adapted for a 70s 18hp evinrude. Purchase price for a new one in NZ is almost the same amount as the boat. Any suggestions?

Hutchy..... What is the model number of your engine? That would pinpoint what fuel pump you would need. It's midnight here.... I'll check my remaining stock in the morning and get back to you.

Hutchy.... I checked and found that (according to my books) that the in the 70s, the 18hp was manufactured only in 1970 and 1971, and the fuel pump was the same for both of them. Sorry to say that I do not have that item but the original and superceeded OMC number are: 382875 = 388685.
