HELP!!!!! 1984 bf100 starts good, idles good, runs 5 min at mid throttle the dies. No fuel in float bowl, I have replaced fuel lines, bulb, filter, fuel pump, needle valve, carb is spotless.. It will idle in gear all daylong. I can feather the bulb and it will stay running, float height is at 10mm. comp is good, 95+98 tank is good and vents, does it with cover on or off no difference. Put all clear lines on to watch fuel for vapor lock lines stay full after it stalls no bubblesno problems seen. Not getting hot, new impeller and all seals. All i can think of is a sticky needle or seat. Starts up in 1-2 pulls after stalling. Any input from anybody ? I"ve done the thermostat, plugs are tan colored . THANKS any help will be greatly

Could be anything electrical related once passing idle when engine needs all the power from each electrical component. Heats, shorts, misses till cold and the cylcle continues endlessly or a cylinder head gasket on it's way to be KO.

If by squeezing the bulb you can keep it running, look for an issue with the fuel pump, or an air leak.

I can keep it running forever by barely squeezing bulb every 4-5 seconds. after it stalls i have gas in all lines but none in float bowl. saw no bubbles with clear fuel lines no gaps in fuel supply. would an air leak leave fuel in lines. I can drain all lines and leave fuel in float bowl start motor an see pump pulling and pushing fuel with clear lines. thought it was a sticky float or needle stickin and running off bowl gas till gone all the parts replaced have made no change better or worse.

Don't know about Honda's fuel system, when having worn, dried internal connector's o'rings gives issues as described, must change fuel line, connectors or just both sides connector's o'rings if available. If having fuel pump related issies supposedly you should not have any fuel on bowl when engine dies as no new fuel is being pumped in carb.

This really has me stumped, I have fuel in the lines both sides (tank to pump and pump to carb ) when it dies. But no fuel in float bowl. I have used clear lines and watched fuel being pulled and pushed by the pump. All lines stay full at all times even after stalling. I can use bulb and refill float bowl and its runs fine for about 5 min or bowl goes dry then stalls again. It"s like the float is sticking shut and not letting fuel in. The manual says to hold carb body with float pin up and needle pointing to left side, move float to where needle is just touching float tang measure at 10mm to top of float. Is the measurement taken with needle pin spring compressed or not, or just touching tang.

Well I figured it out, its a worn cam rocker, doesn"t move the fuel pump plunger far enough to build full pressure. Do i have to pull power head to remove the cam ? Are all the 4 rocker arms the same ? maybe just switching arms around and using one of the others ? Or other suggestions .
