Fuel problem on OMC jet

Just wondering if anyone could kindly help me out with a question or two about the '95 Rage 15' 115hp omc boat that I just picked up. Previous owner has taken out the vro oil box and cut and plugged the lines near the fuel/oil pump and unplugged the harness from this pump. The engine is running on premix and runs great with periodically squeezing the priming bulb.- I reconnected the harness- this did not start the fuel pump, but the low oil alarm came on. This is probably why he unplugged it. But I cannot figure out how he thought the fuel was going to be pumped to engine? Would you know how I should go about bypassing this? Thanks. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Fuel problem on OMC jet

I don't know that engine or the set up,, here is what I do on all 2 stroke engines including my jet skis,, I purchase a small electric fuel pump with 5 pounds of preasure cost is around 30 dollars, I purchase a 30 amp relay about 5 dollars, I wire the relay to the battery and the activator wire to a hot when key is on position on the switch, I run the power out wire to the pump and ground the pump, use the pump to supply fuel to your carbs it will also prime your fuel lines by just turning the key to the on position for a few seconds before starting, this is a better way to supply fuel to your engine as it will maintain a constant fuel preasure and eliminate high speed flutter common in most vacume operated fuel pump engines. I make a mounting bracket and place everything on that bracket I double heatshrink all wires and solder the conections. I have done this for years and have never had a problem. just plug off the pulse line that is going to your fuel pump, the oil light is on because the oil tank is empty,, remove the sender from the tank and cable tie it in the up position, that will turn off the oil warning.
