Runs wot for awhile then it sputters and dies. I changed the fuel filter, bulb, line and fuel pump. Ran well for about 2 hours and then it did it again. Also new vent and fill hoses on tank. Engine has good compression and the plugs are dry. The new fuel bulb also collapes. No vro. Any help where to go next would be appreciated.

If fuel bulb collapses, then might be an obstruction before it, maybe in the gas tank pickup. Be careful running it till it is fixed, when you don't get enough fuel, you don't get enough lube. Good Luck

Thanks, I checked the pick up tube and it is fine. i had the tank cleaned before I put the boat in the water. Anything else that could be the cause.

I guarantee you -

That if the bulb collapses while it's running and then it dies -

You have an obstruction in the tube between the bulb and the fule pick up in the tank OR

MOST likely - the tank is inadequately vented -

Try running briefly with the fuel cap off see if it solves your problem

if it does - it's a tank venting problem.

Or a defective bulb.

If your pickup is clean when you remove it, maybe there are big chunks of stuff in the tank that fall off when suction is removed. Look down in the tank for debris.

Thanks for all the help. I replaced the bulb it was defective again. The check valve didn't work right on it. Also had to replace the fuel manifold--it had a pinhole and was sucking air. Once again thanks for the help. :)
