FUEL PRIMER BULB COLLAPSING!!

2003 Sea Pro 22' walk around. 105 gallon aluminum fuel tank.

Fuel primer bulb is collapsing while my brand new Suzuki 175 outboard is running.

- Replaced anti siphon valve on fuel tank
- Removed priming bulb from fuel line and visually inspected it
- No in-line fuel filter between tank/ engine
- Haven't experienced any loss of power, even cruising at 5,000 RPM. Which is weird..

I'm thinking fuel pickup line inside fuel tank is clogged? Is there a screen on the bottom of the pickup? Must be a bi** to pull that out. Barely enough access to change anti siphon valve.

Any other ideas?? Thank you!!

loosen the fill cap and then blow compressed air into the line to the tank to see if flows freely. but be care ful explosive fumes should be coming out of the fill cap area.
thinking some more of on this, the Anti syphon valve would keep air from traveling back to the tank
some shops have a fuel flow testing rig to see how much fuel can be easily flowed thru the system to make sure all is good

How old is the primer bulb? It might be too old to properly hold its shape. If new, it could be defective.

First thought is tank venting, second is soft primer bulb.

Hi. Firstly, I’d say that you don’t require a primer bulb with new engines like this. Secondly, I’d check if the primer bulb is going in the right direction.
But I’d remove the bulb altogether. No need for it with new engines like this.

Yeah that was my first thought, primer bulb reversed!
