Use 50:1, Joe. Fresh, 87 octane lead and alcohol free gasoline and Super Tech or Quicksilver oil.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

To drain the gear lube, support the motor vertically. Remove drain screw near bottom of skeg and vent screw near cavitation plate. These usually are slotted screws. Allow to drain completely, then add new lube from squeeze tube or pump from bottom hole until it oozes out the top. Replace top vent screw, remove tube or pump, and replace bottom screw. It's important to use new washers on both screws. This is a bit of a messy job the first time or two, but it's inexpensive and will keep your gearbox happy. Change at least once a season, twice is better, especially before winterizing.

JoeJoe,
I would actually run your motor a bit richer than 50:1. Your motor has only one needle bearing - at the top main. All other bearing surfaces are bronze babbit bearings. I'd run it at a 32:1 ratio (pint of TCW-3 to 4 gallons). Bronze bearings don't generally do very well at 50:1.
- Scott
