When replacing fuel lines feeding the carbs, do you need any type of marine grade, or can they be purchased at any auto supply store?

Fuel line, is fuel line. Buy it from the auto parts store and save some money.

I disagree. The "OMC" fuel lines are the correct i.d. for you motor. you may find an approximate match in size at an auto parts store, but it will not be the exact match for the motor. Personally, when it comes to fuel delivery volume I wouldn't mess around.

I bought all new fuel lines from Bombardier and it cost very little per foot.

Go with the OMC fuel line.

Not that I am aware of. Go to your local omc dealer and he can order what you need when he submits his next order. Most dealers have to order at least $250 in parts so they get free shipping (collectively).

Good Luck!

I do believe the Coast Guard looks at your fuel lines when certifying your vessel.
There is a marine grade fuel and vapor hose.
The OMC hose has a different outside diameter, but I think the inside diameter is either 5/16" for smaller engines, or 3/8" for larger displacements.

Re: fuel lines

I was trying to stay out of this.....

I know when I put the new tanks in my Chris Craft I was sold only hose that had a green or a red stripe signifying "Coast Guard Approved".

And all hose will be for either 5/16 or 3/8 mating parts.

I was thinking of starting a post just a week or 2 back on quality/grades of fuel line. Seems I've replaced them all several times this season, under the cowling as well, I know I shouldn't be using the "worm type" clamps but every time the motor (since fixed) would start acting up on me I'd check all the hose clamps, trying not to overtighten, but when you see black mat'l coming through the clamp, cut off some more hose.... Also I have some hose I purchased and some the mechanic put on, looks different but the outside started getting sticky as if the mat'l was breaking down. OK done venting.

Point-I believe there's inferior and quality fuel line, I just have yet to find the quality stuff.

And use the right clamps......
