I wanted to replace the fuel line from the tank to the pump on a 1996 carb. I went to NAPA and the guy was out of 3/8 fuel line and he gave me SAE J2076 line. Which is for power steering applications? He said it would work fine and gave it to me for no charge. He just billed me for the worm clamps. It appears to be standard rubber line with reinforcement fibers. Is it okay to use this or should I go hunt down something else? Thanks.

Dont think that is marine rated . I think you need the A1 rating like on this one https://www.westmarine.com/buy/shie...MI5Ii9tYTP-AIVGsiUCR3ReAXDEAQYASABEgI4UPD_BwE

Yeah, don't use that. You want this one:

https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NBHH197

Part number NBH H197

Tip for shopping for "non-standard" (includes marine parts and anything that can't be found via year/make/model) stuff at NAPA: order online. If your local store doesn't have it, they should do an inter-store transfer and have it in a couple of hours or worst case, next day. This ensures they're getting the right stuff by part number vs rummaging around in the back and saying "uhh... 3/8 hose... yeah that's what you need!"
