Fuel line sizeing

I am sort of reconfiguring an older Glasspar, a 69 Avalon 15. I bought it with portable fuel tanks at the rear of the boat. It origonally had a tank below the foredeck with an external fill port. I want to restore that configuration. It has a 71 Merc 1350 on it so what I need to know is what size fuel line should I run as it has all been removed. Its about a 20 foot run, and I hope the motors fuel pump is strong enough to pull the fuel that length. Thanks in advance for any sugestions. I did get it in the water last weekend for the first time, the thing flys and handles amazingly well. My first lake boat so its all new to me.

Re: Fuel line sizeing

3/8 will be fine...1/4 too small. Those Mercs are had starters when cold...lots of constant choke and fast idle and pump the bulb
