fuel line size evinrude 1986 70hp

what size is the fuel lines feeding the carbs.<br />the marine shop only has omc part #'s<br />and not the actual size. i'am in the middle<br />of a rebuild and the hoses are old and need<br />replacing.

I dunno, exactly. You could measure them, though. They'll be 5/16" or 3/8", probably. Just be sure to use fuel hose and nothing other than fuel hose, if you're substituting. If you don't want to measure them with something, just try different sized bolts in them. One will fit tightly, but fit. That's the size.

For what it's worth, my '82 V6 has 5/16 inside the cowling between the fuel filter and the fuel pump. I don't know between the pump and the carbs.<br /><br />I'm assuming you're wanting to buy the fuel line at an autoparts or hardware store- why not just take the old hose with you, or if it were me, I'd probably just buy both sizes if I happened to be at the store and didn't know, but that's how I end up with a lot of spare parts around the shop. I always figure it's easier just to spend the extrea couple of bucks if it's convenient rather than make another trip into town.

gs, they're likely 1/4" to the carbs, 5/16" to the fuel pump. That's what my 100horse rude is and I don't think they go any smaller on your,n. Chief ;
