Ran into a little problem the other day, fortunately in the mooring field so I wasn't stranded... Tried firing up the motor, and it ran for a couple seconds then died. Wouldn't catch after that. So I went and took a quick look, and found that the fuel line from my fuel tank to the motor had come disconnected! Essentially, I've got the line from the tank to the squeeze ball, then a few feet of line off the squeeze ball ending in a quick connector.
This is really showing off my cluelessness with these motors, but I could not for the life of me find where that connector had come disconnected from! Should there be a connector somewhere on the outside of the engine, or another line coming through the cowling somewhere? I know this is a 30 second job to reconnect, if only I can figure out where to connect the line to!
The motor is a '99 Mercury 40hp 4-stroke with EFI...
